Recovery

Hard drive data recovery is possible on nearly every type of computer system. Our lab technicians are trained in the latest recovery techniques with years of successful work behind them on almost every file system and platform.

02

Physical failures

Ticking, scratching, or clicking noises usually mean the read/write heads, motor, or platters have failed. Physical damage can also come from mishandling or circuit-board failure. These almost always cause at least partial data loss, but the right tools and a clean environment can still recover a lot.

03

Logical failures

Far more common than physical damage is logical corruption: accidental deletion, accidental formatting, or file system damage from a power loss. Don't throw away your photos, music, and documents. Let us look first. After recovery, our online backup service helps make sure it doesn't happen again.

04

Secure disposal

"Delete" doesn't actually destroy data. Almost nothing about it does. We properly dispose of magnetic and optical media so retired drives, tapes, and discs can't be recovered by anyone else. The right method depends on the media; we'll choose it for you.
